11th Annual First Place Fundraising Breakfast

On Wednesday, April 26th, we held the 11th Annual First Place Fundraising Breakfast, celebrating ‘Hope, Home and Education.’ Our guests enjoyed much more than a delicious meal – emcee and KING 5 reporter Linda Byron kicked off the event, First Place students and alumni were on hand to share their amazing first-hand experiences, our keynote speaker Greg Shaw of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation inspired and motivated us, and we enjoyed the powerful vocal performance by young local up-and-comer, Christopher Harris, accompanied by Paul Davis. The breakfast culminated in a wonderful duet by Josie Howell of our Advisory Board, singing along with Christopher. Nearly 700 guests were on board at Seattle’s Westin Hotel for this wonderful occasion.

Megan Johnson of Megan’s Mission was awarded with the Kelly O’Neil Henson Award for Volunteer Service. George Staggers of the Central Area Development Association, and First Place Board Member, was recognized with the Gail Bereny Award for Volunteer Leadership. Congratulations to both recipients!
