First Place Giving

Your support helps children and families who are struggling with the effects of homelessness.  With your help, First Place is breaking the cycle of poverty and homelessness in our community.  First Place is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Checks can be made out to First Place.
 Credit Card Donations can be called in over the phone.  We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.  To make a credit card donation, call Melissa Collett, Fund Development Manager at (206) 323-6715 ext. 1106.

Box Tops For Education

First Place is now collecting Box Tops For Education to raise money for our classrooms. Box Tops For Education are coupons which are printed on items you buy in the grocery store and office supplies such as Avery products. Look for items with this logo on them:

Box Tops for Education coupons can be found on hundreds of items you buy at the grocery store like Cherrios, Hefty, Kleenex, Huggies, Cottonelle, and more. (See a full list of items here.)

How it works: Clip these coupons when you see them on your groceries and office products. Then mail them to First Place, Attn: Development Office, PO Box 22536, Seattle, WA 98122. First Place then bundles the coupons and sends them in.

Collecting these coupons has the potential to raise up to $20,000 for First Place with little effort.

Here are some ideas about collecting:

5% Back to School at Office Depot

Anytime you make a purchase at Office Depot, you can designate First Place to receive credits that equal 5% of your purchase - all year long!  This includes orders over the phone, on the internet and in person.

What to do: First Place has a unique ID number. Give this number to the Office Depot employee when you are checking out.  The First Place ID# is 70123279.

What does First Place get?  First Place receives gift cards from Office Depot each quarter for use in buying supplies for our school, which is a large cost savings each year.
 

Shop Amazon to raise funds for First Place

You can now raise money for First Place when you purchase items on Amazon.com.

All you need to do is click on the banner below before you make your purchases from Amazon and First Place will receive up to 10% of your purchase price. It's that easy!

Memorial Gifts to First Place

When a loved one, colleague, or friend passes away, a wonderful gesture can be made by giving a memorial gift to First Place. Memorial gifts are often made in lieu of flowers to ensure that our work with those who know the risk --or reality-- of homelessness will continue to serve those in need.

If you wish to make a gift in the memory of an individual, here are the steps to take:

  1. Please send a tax-deductible donation to First Place via check (made out to First Place) or by providing us with your credit card number and the expiration date. This can be sent to First Place, PO Box 22536, Seattle, WA 98122-0536. Please include your name/address/telephone.
  2. We then need the following information:

From there, we send a memorial card to the next-of-kin noting your gift (but not the amount) and we send you a letter of thanks that you can use for charitable donation reporting.
